a good try & days off

We're home! Showered, unpacked and sooooo ready to sleep in my own bed. The training was kind of on and then totally off by the end of our trip. But I start again tomorrow!

Last Wednesday was a REST DAY. Good thing too because we drove from Amarillo, TX to Buena Vista, CO. Such a gorgeous drive, check out my DQ blog for pics and video soon.

So Thursday morn I wake with good intentions of pushing through the altitude and doing my scheduled work-out:

10 min. walk
3 min. run
10 min. walk
Run uphill stairs twice

Here's what really happened:

10 min. walk downhill from the gate of Trail West
1 min. run uphill
15 min. just trying to make it back to the lodge before a bear gets me and my lungs completely collapse
Ran uphill stairs twice

Seriously. Thought I was going to die on the side of the road and Jason would never know what happened to me. I had never been that out of breath. BUT I DID THE STAIRS!!!!

I was completely wiped for the rest of the day and decided that vacay in high altitude=days off. So that took care of Friday and Saturday. Today we headed out really early to the lake with my in-laws and after all Sunday is a day of rest. All in all I did well with my eating I think. Careful, but not too restrictive. It was a vacation after all! Back to the routine tomorrow...
