Song in which I stopped and broke it down in the middle of the street- "Girlfriend", Avril Lavigne
I was definitely a little stiffer this morning. I could feel the shock and protest of my joints at three days in a row of physical exertion. Terrible, horrible, cruel Leslie. But I pushed through, pumped my arms, kept my head up, shoulders relaxed and pressed on. The 2 min. runs definitely whooped my butt. After the second one I was breathing HARD. I'm glad Allie has me easing into this thing. Speaking of, she is the best! Even from 4+ states away she's the best personal trainer ever. Remind me of that when crunches and push-ups are worked into my workouts next week. I'm used to dealinjg with "the girls" during my runs. I've had them for a while and know how to corral them properly so I don't get a black eye. But it is a little disconcerting to catch a glimpse of my shadow and see them AND my belly bouncing up and down. Hence, the Weight Watchers. Ten pounds from now, hopefully my shadow will look a little different.
I like having this blog. It gives me something to think about while I run. Tomorrow is a rest day but I'll try to blog anyway from Colorado. It'll be interesting to see how the altitude affects my workout. We shall see...
P.S. I'm a little vehklempt about leaving Knox for 5 days. Talk amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic:
The fact that there were no size 12 or 14 shorts at Old Navy yesterday- comforting or scary?

too too funny.
i thot of you as i watched HOUR 1 and almost all of HOUR 2 of Season 5 of 24 that I began last night.
I biked on stationary bike for 45 minutes (least favorite component of the TRI) AND ran/walked/hobbled for 40.
I've alluded to all this DRAMA in my life...and seriously... I was hitting the bottle and the cigs hard last week...so... It felt like I was back at base camp with four weeks to go to the TRI....LUNGS were revolting.
NOTE: on SHADOWS... when I began in January... I have a framed pix on the wall of bonus room that is beside the ELLIP.... I seriously would watch my arse in the reflected glass and think..."WHO THE HADES is that?" OMG. Seriously...no one in Harlem had anything on me.
waiting for tomorrow's update. xxx
