...begins with a single step. ~ Lao-tzu (604 BC - 531 BC)
Time Trial Day
8 min walk, stretch, easy strides
1 mile run (hard effort)
15 min walk
1 min each: sit-ups, push-ups
In a way, my journey began today with a single mile. And I ran it in 9:07!!!! Ok, I'll be honest, I was hoping for 12 minutes or something like that. I mean, I haven't run in a looooong time. But there it was, still lingering beneath the fat and unused muscles- my runner girl. The mile wasn't easy but it wasn't mind bogglingly hard either. Just a good challenge. Now, the push-ups? Those were a little harder. Also, does anyone have some good recs for running shorts that won't ride up between my legs? That's an issue for me right now. I'd rather spend my runs focused on form and breathing than being aware that I'm sporting some serious camel toe.
(P.S. Keep reading. Yesterday's workout is below. I just didn't post it until today. My apologies to those of you who may be following my training plan. Actually, is there anybody else out there doing these workouts too?)
