Have I mentioned that the Weight Watchers meeting I've chosen to attend is at 6:45 on Friday mornings? Well, it is. It is led by a 70+ year old woman who is really quite sweet, very Texan and suprisingly poetic. As you can imagine, it's a pretty dedicated group of folks who will show up at 6:45 every Friday morning. They seem to be a tight bunch, very encouraging of each other if a little reluctant to encourage themselves. Why is it that as adults we can be so self deprecating about things we should be very proud of? Especially when it comes to taking care of ourselves for once?! Weird. Anyhow, apparently after a couple of meetings worth of my contributions to the conversations, I am now an inspiration to one of the women there. I'm not sure why or how it happened. I'm ashamed to say I don't even know her name. But she is very sweet and earnest and I'm glad for the accountability.
I managed to stay the same weight as last week's weigh-in. I'll take that. I didn't really start eating on program until yesterday so I wasn't expecting much. BUT, I am very proud of the fact that I stayed on my training program all week. Yay me! I was kind of hoping for a "Bravo!" star sticker from my leader (for my WW bookmark), but she doesn't seem to be as free with those things as past leaders.
There's a park with a great 1.5 mile loop about 5 min. from the WW center. I did my workout there and felt quite good. The 6 min. run was the longest I've run since January. No shame. Just looking ahead.
